The 7 Lakes of Ausangate Full-Day Tour is a new and surprising day trip from Cusco. On this trip, you'll visit seven lagoons with different beautiful colors, such as green, turquoise, and bright blue, as well as spectacular mountains that are part of the Vilcanota mountain range, such as Ausagante and Ayancate. After the hike, you'll also enjoy a moment of relaxation in the thermal baths, with stunning views of Ausangate.
ITINERARY
We will begin our exciting tour of the 7 lakes of Ausangate by picking you up from your hotel in Cusco at 5 am.
We'll head towards the beautiful community of Pacchanta, a journey lasting approximately six hours, during which we'll have the opportunity to admire the impressive flora and fauna of the high Andean landscapes. Once in Pacchanta, we'll enjoy a nutritious, regional breakfast. We'll have a short break during which our guide will provide detailed information about the adventure that's about to begin.
After breakfast, we'll continue our walking tour of the 7 Ausangate lakes. The route is approximately 7.5 km long and will take about five hours to explore. During this time, we'll visit lakes Azulqocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, Puqacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha, and Patacocha, and marvel at the views of majestic mountains such as Ausangate, Mariposa, Jampa, Pucapunta, Caracol, and Tinke.
Along the way, we will have the opportunity to observe native birds, alpacas, llamas, vizcachas, and, with a bit of luck, the majestic Andean condor.
At the end of the lagoon circuit, we'll return to Pacchanta, where we'll enjoy a delicious local lunch. Afterwards, we'll relax in the community's medicinal hot springs, recovering and recharging our batteries after a day of incredible discoveries in the Andes.
We will return to Cusco.
