Designed as a space that promotes knowledge and awakens the senses, the Glaciarium seeks to emotionally engage visitors through sophisticated aesthetic and narrative resources. To this end, it was conceived as a living, breathing environment, filled with visual and auditory stimuli, interactive and fun, contributing to the understanding of the world of glaciers and enriching every visit to Patagonia.
Following current exhibition techniques used by museums and interpretation centers worldwide, the content is presented in a variety of ways: scenic effects, lighting effects, multimedia programs, and audiovisual presentations. Ice, glaciers, their formation, and the dynamics of their fascinating phenomena inspired the architecture and design, and drove the creative development of the texts, scripts, illustrations, and images displayed at the Glaciarium.
The architecture is expressive and symbolic, like a giant sculpture erected on the Patagonian steppe, integrated into the surrounding landscape.
