Activity description
This incredible experience begins in the most comfortable way possible, aboard Spain's fastest train (with a top speed of 300 km/h), boasting punctuality, avoiding up to two hours of delays and traffic jams in major cities, and arriving in Segovia in just 30 minutes. Be amazed by the countryside you often wouldn't see driving on the highway or flying thousands of miles through the air. Ecologically, train travel remains, overall, the most environmentally friendly mode of travel. After a scenic drive, begin your adventure by discovering the famous Aqueduct of Segovia, a marvel of Roman engineering dating back to the 1st century AD. Admire the well-preserved aqueduct that stretches through the heart of the city and is an incredible sight. Continue with a gentle stroll along La Senda de los Molinos, a magnificent walk that combines landscapes, nature, geology, and the industrial history of Segovia. The trail runs between the neighborhoods of San Lorenzo and San Marcos, with a beautiful walk along the riverbank that brings us closer to its industrial past. This part of the city is somewhat unknown, but it boasts a natural and historical beauty of great value. Enjoy the coolness under the trees while admiring the beauty of its native nature and lush vegetation until you reach the San Marcos viewpoint, a privileged spot to contemplate the Alcázar of Segovia from a unique perspective. After the walk, you'll visit the Alcázar, perched on a hill overlooking the city, its majestic castle, once home to the kings of Castile. This fortress has a unique appearance with its towers and is said to have inspired Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle. Explore the interior, including the various rooms, halls, and courtyards. Don't miss the Tower of Juan II, which offers panoramic views of Segovia. Then, continue through the charming streets of Segovia's historic center. Admire the medieval buildings, picturesque squares, and quaint alleys. Stroll through the Jewish Quarter and the Gothic Cathedral. Don't miss Plaza Mayor, the main square, where you can relax in a café and soak up the atmosphere.
Before returning to Madrid, you'll enjoy some free time to explore the city on your own, relax, or even savor one of the most traditional dishes in Spanish cuisine: Cochinillo (suckling pig).
