- Entrance to the Egyptian Museum of Canela
The creator of the traveling museum, visual artist Essam Elbattal, who was born in the city of Sharkia, Egypt, has always shown a deep inclination towards visual arts since childhood. At the age of 16, he dedicated himself to creating works inspired by ancient Egypt, basing his work on research by renowned international Egyptologists. The artist's private collection consists of more than 400 pieces, including a pyramid over 8 meters high, mummies, sarcophagi, burial chambers, which are replicas of the most famous historical artifacts exhibited in museums in Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Louvre, London, Berlin and the Vatican, within a themed space of over 1000m². The Egyptian Museum of Canela offers an intriguing journey through the rich history of Ancient Egypt. The grandeur of the architectural remains, the wealth found in the pyramids, ruins and tombs, the mysteries created around the art and the buildings themselves, all contribute to making the history of the land of the pharaohs a lively and current subject. A visit to the Museum provides an opportunity to learn about a reality that was hidden for thousands of years amidst ruins, buried in the sand, forgotten in ancient inscriptions that no one, until two centuries ago, knew how to translate.
