ITINERARY
The tour begins with pick up at your hotel, immediately on our bus we will depart to the sacred valley by an alternative route to visit.
CHINCHERO is a predominantly Inca city that the Spanish attempted to civilize and establish their culture, but they were unable to do so completely, as its inhabitants still refuse to abandon their Inca culture and customs. They keep their textile culture alive, using and weaving their garments for both personal use and decoration. We'll visit a Textile Center to learn how to dye sheep and alpaca wool yarn with natural dyes and how to make garments using ancestral techniques such as the 'away' and 'loom'.
MORAY, located 49.3 km from Cusco, is a unique archaeological site. It consists of gigantic natural depressions or holes in the earth's surface, which were used to build terraces or agricultural platforms with irrigation channels in the surrounding areas. The most interesting aspect is the difference in average annual temperature between the top and bottom of the depressions, which reaches 15°C in the 30-meter-deep depression.
MARAS, we will visit the famous salt mines known by some as 'salineras' which consist of about 3,000 small pits with an average area of about 5 m², during the dry season they are filled or 'irrigated' every 3 days with salt water that emanates from a natural spring situated at the top of the pits so that, as the water evaporates, the salt contained in it gradually solidifies (50 min.).
We will begin our return to the city of Cusco.
Upon arrival in Cusco, we'll drop you off close to the main square so you can have lunch at the restaurant of your choice. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
