To visit this natural wonder and spend some quality time swimming, we have to go to Chiclayo, capital of the Lambayeque department in Peru.
This place doesn't disappoint, but you should keep in mind that it's not yet considered an official tourist destination, so you won't find platforms to promote it. However, the locals have organized themselves to take care of the place and serve visitors. It's worth visiting, although precautions should always be taken.
ITINERARY
Departure to visit the jewels of Mayascong.
We will visit the natural area of the Ferreñafano dry forest, a thirty-minute walk from the village of Mayascon. Its area is made up of carob and fig trees, typical of the equatorial dry forest, as well as waterfalls and pools measuring twelve meters in diameter.
Afterwards, there will be free time to listen to the sound of birds and contemplate the mountains.
The hike to the pools is quite moderate and offers beautiful scenery. Along the way, you'll encounter a giant lion-shaped rock, which makes for a beautiful photo opportunity. In 30 minutes, you'll reach the first pool. This spot hasn't been discovered by many yet, which is surprising since it's not overcrowded, allowing you to truly enjoy it.
Each pool is just a short climb to the next, some just a few steps along the rocks, and some with the help of ropes. There are a total of eight pools, each more beautiful than the last.
5:00 pm. Arrival in Chiclayo and end of services. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
