- Full Day Istanbul Tour
Let’s enjoy a day tour of Istanbul city, starting our tour from the Old Sultanahmet in Istanbul, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will enjoy the magical Istanbul and its iconic places: Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome of Constantinople and Grand Bazaar.
Based on your departure time, we will depart from the hotel and head to the heart of the old city; SultanAhmet Square. There, admire Istanbul’s most incredible classics, such as the Hagia Sophia: one of the greatest architectural wonders, founded as a basilica in the 6th century. Built by order of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian, the Hagia Sophia was the largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years; it is considered the masterpiece of Byzantine architecture. After being considered the Patriarchal Basilica of Constantinople, it was converted into a mosque in 1453 by Sultan Mehmet II. Next; Topkapi Palace: This extraordinary palace full of secrets was the residence of the Ottoman imperial sultans and the center of the Ottoman Empire for almost 400 years. The building is a typical example of Ottoman architecture and the rooms display rich collections of porcelain, clothing, weapons, shields, armor, Ottoman miniatures, and Islamic calligraphy. After lunch, head to the Blue Mosque: Located opposite the Hagia Sophia, famous for its blue Iznik tiles and six unique minarets. The Blue Mosque is also known as the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. This is the last great imperial mosque of the classical period. The name by which it is now known, the Blue Mosque, comes from the 20,000 beautiful blue Iznik tiles that decorate the interior walls. Hippodrome of Constantinople: A former center of sporting events (such as chariot racing, for example) and political activities in the old city. The Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpentine Column and the German Fountain of William II are the monuments that you can see and learn more about during your visit to the Hippodrome. The last place to visit is the Grand Bazaar: One of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 60 streets and 5000 shops, where you will find in an authentic oriental atmosphere all kinds of gifts, leather clothes, carpets, antiques, jewelry, hand-made fabrics, etc.
