We will enjoy a day tour of the city of Istanbul, starting our tour from the Ancient Sultanahmet in Istanbul, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will enjoy magical Istanbul and its emblematic places: Topkapi Palace, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome of Constantinople and Grand Bazaar.
Based on the departure time we will leave the hotel towards the heart of the ancient city; SultanAhmet Square. There, admire Istanbul's most incredible classics, such as the Hagia Sophia: one of the greatest architectural wonders, founded as a basilica in the 6th century. Built by order of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian, Hagia Sophia was the largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years; It is considered the masterpiece of Byzantine architecture. After being considered the Patriarchal Basilica of Constantinople, it was converted into a mosque in 1453 by Sultan Mehmet II. Next; Topkapi Palace: This extraordinary palace full of secrets was the residence of the Ottoman imperial sultans and the center of the Ottoman Empire for almost 400 years. The building is a typical example of Ottoman architecture and the rooms display rich collections of porcelain, clothing, weapons, shields, armor, Ottoman miniatures, Islamic calligraphy. After lunch, head to the Blue Mosque: Opposite Hagia Sophia, famous for its blue Iznik tiles and six unique minarets. The Blue Mosque is also known as the Sultan Ahmet Mosque. This is the last great imperial mosque of the classical period. The name by which it is now known, Blue Mosque, comes from the 20,000 wonderful blue-hued Iznik tiles that decorate the interior walls. Constantinople Hippodrome: Former center of sporting events (such as car races, for example) and political activities in the ancient city. Theobelisk of Theodosius, the Serpentine Column and the German Fountain of William II are the monuments you can find and learn more about during your visit to the Hippodrome. The last place to visit is the Grand Bazaar: One of the largest covered markets in the world, with more than 60 streets and 5000 shops, where you will find in an authentic oriental atmosphere all kinds of gifts, leather clothes, carpets, antiques, jewelry, handmade fabrics, etc.
