Activity description
This tour will give you the best of the cities of Recife and Olinda all at once.
After hotel pickups, you'll take a scenic drive along the Boa Viagem coastline, one of Brazil's most famous urban beaches.
Next, stop at the Catamaran Space, where you can take a beautiful catamaran ride (passengers who do not purchase the tour will continue to Marco Zero by bus) through our Brazilian Venice. During the water tour, while the guide shares interesting facts and stories about the city and the region's main attractions, visitors can enjoy beautiful views of the city of waters, starting with the Pina Basin, passing by the Port Wall, the mouth of the Capibaribe River, the Port Basin, the Francisco Brennand Sculpture Park, and ending at our city's ground zero, Marco Zero Square. The catamaran ride lasts approximately 30 minutes.
From Marco Zero, we will continue on foot along Rua do Bom Jesus (formerly Rua dos Judeus), where the Kahal Zur Israel Synagogue, the Embassy of the Giant Dolls of Olinda (tickets not included) and the Embassy of Pernambuco (tickets not included) are located, in addition to the Open-Air Museum.
The museum and warehouse, featuring giant puppets representing Pernambuco, Brazilian, and international personalities, also features a short performance of frevo, a traditional local dance. Each location visit takes 20 minutes. Those who choose not to visit these locations can wait in the pleasant, tree-lined Arsenal da Marinha square. After the tour, around 11:30 a.m., we head to lunch at a buffet restaurant, offering a variety of regional flavors.
After a one-hour stop for lunch (not included), we'll continue by bus to Olinda. Once there, on an average 50-minute walking tour, we'll visit Alto da Sé, with the Sé and Misericórdia churches, from which you'll enjoy the most beautiful views of the cities of Recife and Olinda, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can also shop at a nearby crafts market.
Next, we return for a panoramic tour of Recife, including the three islands (Recife, Santo Antônio, and Boa Vista), the Maurício de Nassau Bridge, Praça da República (where the Government Palace, the Santa Isabel Theater, and the Palace of Justice are located), and finally a 40-minute stop at the Casa da Cultura, a beautiful building erected in the mid-19th century as a prison. Today, it serves as a representative center of regional culture, with craft shops and local cuisine.
After the last stop, passengers return to the bus that will take them to their respective hotels.
