When it comes to day trips in Florence and Tuscany, it can be difficult to find the right one for you. Cycling from Florence to Chianti on an e-bike means you can enjoy stunning views of the Tuscan hills from your bike, with a little push on the steepest and most challenging climbs!
Take this electric bike tour from Florence, Italy, to discover the stunning Tuscan countryside as you complete a small-group tour to Chianti and back, passing the Piazzale Michelangelo viewpoint.
Admire Florence from your e-bike
Reaching a viewpoint high above a city by bike can make some travelers apprehensive. However, with an e-bike, that's not necessary. Meet your guide, hop on your bike, and pedal effortlessly along the Arno River and up the tree-lined Viale dei Colli until you reach the stunning viewpoint at Piazzale Michelangelo. Stop here for a fantastic photo opportunity before heading to the main part of this Tuscany e-bike tour: Chianti.
Cycle the scenic roads of the Chianti wine region
Your guide will lead your small group through the picturesque Tuscan countryside on what is known as the "Ring of the Renaissance" itinerary. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, you'll pass villas and estates perched atop Tuscan hills, all intertwined with breathtaking panoramic views as you ride through the heart of the region.
Along the way, you'll have the opportunity to visit an olive mill, where you'll discover the secrets behind the traditional production of Tuscan extra virgin olive oil. Witness firsthand how skilled artisans employ ancient techniques and natural materials to create this liquid gold, adding a fascinating dimension to your Tuscan adventure. A tasting of their gourmet olive oil will reveal all the incredible flavors their passion and work create.
Visit a boutique winery and have lunch in Tuscany
After a lot of cycling and learning about the treasures of the Chianti region, it's time to discover the 'tasty' side of Tuscany.
Next, you'll head to a boutique winery, where you'll pause to digest and enjoy the scenery before enjoying a traditional Tuscan meal in the heart of Chianti. Afterward, you'll hop back on your e-bike to Florence. Notes: In case of heavy rain, we may decide to interrupt the bike tour and continue with a walking tour (or simply start with a walking tour if the weather doesn't allow for bikes at the meeting point). If the weather improves during the tour, we will try to resume the tour if possible.
