Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site 30 years ago, the Château de Versailles was the residence of the French kings Louis XIV, Louis XV, and Louis XVI and their court from 1682 until the French Revolution in 1789. Through the audio commentary, discover the splendid château at your leisure: its Baroque architecture, art objects, majestic decorations, and furniture crafted by the greatest craftsmen of the time. Take the opportunity to stroll at your leisure through the château's grounds and gardens to the Trianon, or explore the city of Versailles.
The castle comprises over 700 rooms and covers an area of 67,000 m2. The audio guide helps you find your way around during your visit, learn about the castle's history, and immerse yourself in this unique atmosphere. Enter the most famous rooms: the King's Grand Apartment with seven rooms, each themed after a mythical god (the rooms of Apollo, Mars, Mercury, Venus, etc.); the Queen's Grand Apartment, arranged symmetrically to the king's, with the Coronation Room; and the Queen's bedroom, occupied primarily by Marie Antoinette. Also visit the majestic Hall of Mirrors, a reception space designed by the prestigious architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart. At 73 m long and designed to dazzle visitors of the Sun King, Louis XIV, it is illuminated by 17 windows and 350 mirrors, and opens onto the splendid gardens.
Explore the gardens of Versailles with complete freedom and admire the works of art (over 200 statues), fountains, basins, paths, and groves. During the warmer months, various attractions are offered, such as the Grandes Aguas (Great Water Fountains), with fountains that dance to the rhythm of music.
