This combination of three tours will take you to the heart of Venice and its Byzantine artistic heritage.
The first part of the tour will take you through enchanting Venice, made up of countless bridges, canals, and 'campos' (small squares), the beating heart of a city built on water. Accompanied by an experienced guide, you'll learn more about Venice's past and present, as well as interesting facts about life in a floating city. Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Campo and Church of Saints Giovanni and Paolo, and the Mercerie are just some of the highlights you'll see during this walk.
In the second part of the tour, you will discover not only one of Venice's most famous and symbolic sites, but also one of the most beautiful and impressive cathedrals in the world: St. Mark's Basilica.
Overlooking St. Mark's Square and St. Mark's Basin, the basilica is one of the finest examples of Byzantine art in the world.
Surrounded by its majestic interiors, you'll learn more about the history of Venice and, in particular, about its patron saint, Saint Mark. How did the saint's relics arrive here? Where do all the exotic decorations that adorn the basilica's interior and exterior come from? Let's find out together!
Finally, allow yourself to admire Venice from a unique perspective: from the water. In the blink of an eye, it'll be like being transported to another world, far from the bustling alleys of the historic center, ready to discover a deeper side of the city.
IMPORTANT!!: Between the guided tour of the Basilica and the gondola ride you will have an interval of approximately 3 hours. Notes: The gondola ride will start at 3:00 PM, so there will be a gap of approximately 3 hours between the Basilica and the gondola.
