This tour consists of two parts: first, a walking tour that will allow us to discover Venice's most famous sites, as well as its hidden gems.
An unforgettable way to discover Venice through its narrow streets called calli, countless bridges and wide, traditional and picturesque squares, still the heart of the social life of the Venetian people.
Let our professional guide take you on an unforgettable journey through the beauty and history of Venice.
The first highlight of the walking tour is St. Mark's Square, with a description of the majestic St. Mark's Basilica, the elegant Doge's Palace, the Clock Tower and the Procuratie.
From St. Mark's Square, we'll head to Campo Santa Maria Formosa, where we'll admire the Church of St. John and St. Paul with the famous Pantheon. Continue on to the Scuola Grande di San Marco, also known as the Great School of Charity (the Captains of Fortune). Last but not least, return to St. Mark's and admire the Teatro Malibran. Pass by the famous Mercerie, once the beating heart of commercial life back in time, now Venice's main shopping district between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Square.
Please note that this tour does not include entry to major sites such as the Doge's Palace. This is a walking tour that will take place entirely outside (only external commentary will be provided).
During the second part we will admire one of the most beautiful and famous cathedrals in the world: St. Mark's Basilica.
A tour that will make us marvel at the majesty and true beauty of St. Mark's Basilica, the place where Eastern and Western architecture meet.
Here we will learn more about the timeless history of Venice, about St. Mark's and how its ruins came to rest and be protected here.
A tour not only to see Venice, but to experience this city through its history and glorious past, still shining in its historical sites and legendary characters.
Surrounded by the Basilica's beautiful golden mosaics and marble inlays, our professional guide will take us through the history and special features of this unique masterpiece of Byzantine art.
