We will discover the Vatican Museums and the magnificent Sistine Chapel!
Inside the Vatican Museums, we'll let our expert local guide lead us on a fascinating tour, explaining in detail the main works by the most important artists in the papal collections.
Our first stop will be the Cortile della Pigna, an open space adjacent to the museum, named after the statue located in the center of the courtyard.
Then, at the Pio Clementino Museum, we will admire the Roman and Greek masterpieces preserved in the museum's 12 rooms.
We will visit the Tapestry Gallery, along with the Map Gallery, where we will have the opportunity to observe how our beloved peninsula has changed over time and the traces that history has left on it.
We will enter the Borgia Apartment, divided into six rooms and commissioned by Pope Alexander VI — the 214th pope of the Catholic Church and father of Cesare Borgia, the famous condottiero remembered by the Florentine intellectual Niccolò Machiavelli.
At the end of our tour of the Vatican Museums, we'll arrive at Raphael's Rooms, designed and painted by the artist himself and his disciples. We'll be completely captivated by the beauty of the "School of Athens," located in the Stanza della Segnatura.
As our second stop, the Sistine Chapel awaits us. Here, we'll witness the genius of Michelangelo. We'll be faced with a masterpiece that will leave us breathless, thanks to its stunning color harmony.
We will conclude the tour in St. Peter's Square, from where we will see the majestic St. Peter's Basilica, whose construction dates back to the beginning of the 16th century.
