Depart the hotel to Av. Beira Rio and board a speedboat along the Preguiças River to the Tapuio Community, a place with a strong tradition in the production of cassava flour, the main ingredient in typical Maranhão dishes.
From the planting of cassava, to the harvesting and production of flour, the tour continues along the Preguiças River to the village of Marcelino.
In this place, the tradition is to produce handicrafts made with Buriti straw, a typical tree of the region, and it is possible to follow the entire production process in addition to contributing to the community.
