ITINERARY
Day 1: Uros - Amantani
We start this tour at 7:45 am. Transfer from your hotel to the port.
Then we embark to the floating island of Uros (25 min approx.).
Upon arrival, the inhabitants give us a small welcome, then our guide explains everything about the inhabitants, customs and characteristics of this fascinating place, we visit 2 of the 80 islands and we also have the opportunity to take a short tour (15 min approx.) in traditional reed boats (optional).
After 3 hours of sailing we arrive at the island of Amantaní, when we disembark at the port, the group is divided into smaller groups to rest in the rural houses with the different Taquileña families.
A typical lunch is served with designated families.
At sunset, we hike to the highest point on the island, known as 'Pacha Tata,' to watch the sunset. There, our guide will give us a brief description of the island's main features and peculiarities.
After dinner, the designated family will dress us in their traditional costumes and take us to the community hall or peña, where we will have a small party.
On the way back, we will spend the night in the rural houses designated for each group.
Day 2: Amantani - Taquile
Breakfast in a rural house and at 8:00 am we begin our tour.
We continued on to Taquile Island after approximately 1 hour. We reached this island by boat. Upon disembarking at the port, we began a gradual uphill walk to the island's main square (approximately a 45-minute walk) without any additional charges, to visit the communal cooperative where they display their weavings.
The guide will tell us about the way of life of the inhabitants and their famous textile industry, declared 'Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity' by UNESCO.
Afterwards, we will have lunch at one of the local restaurants (not included).
After lunch, we will descend a route of 500 steps to the main port (optional route).
At approximately 1:00 pm we embark for Puno (approximately 3 hours of navigation).
Return to Puno and end of services. Notes: Reservations can be made up to the day before departure.
