- City Tour in Alcantara
Located on the continent and bathed by the ocean, Alcântara has beautiful secrets to be discovered.
The rich collection of historic mansions and ruins will allow us to take a true journey into the past and imagine the customs of colonial times.
In areas a little further from the center, it is even possible to find quilombos still preserved by families descended from slaves.
Strategically located, very close to the equator, the region is one of the best places in the world for rocket launches, which is why the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA) was installed, creating a great paradigm of advanced technology with the quiet and undeveloped life of the city.
Route: Departure from the hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Pier (Centro or Ponta D'Areia), with the time to be defined depending on the tide.
We will board a regional vessel (serving the local community) and cross to the mainland, taking approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We'll disembark at the port and stroll through the city, stopping for lunch. In the afternoon, depending on the tide, we'll return to São Luís. Transfer to the hotel.
Main attractions: Porto do Jacaré, Ladeira do Jacaré, Chapel of Mercês, Ruins of the Emperor's Palace, Casa do Divino, Historical Museum, Carmo Church, Pillory, ruins of the Main Church, Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Blacks and ruins of the city.
