- City Tour in Alcantara
Located on the continent and bathed by the ocean, Alcântara has beautiful secrets to be discovered.
The rich collection of historic mansions and ruins will allow us to take a true journey into the past and imagine the customs of colonial times.
In areas a little further away from the center, it is even possible to find quilombos still preserved by families descended from slaves.
Strategically located, very close to the Equator, the region is one of the best places in the world for launching rockets, which is why the Alcântara Launch Center (CLA) was installed, creating a great paradigm of advanced technology with the peaceful and undeveloped life of the city.
Route: Departure from the hotel in an air-conditioned vehicle to the Pier (Centro or Ponta D'Areia), with a time to be defined depending on the tide variation.
We will board a regional vessel (serving the local community) and cross to the continent in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We will disembark at the port and walk around the city, stopping for lunch. In the afternoon, depending on the tide, we will return to São Luís. Transfer to the hotel.
Main attractions: Porto do Jacaré, Ladeira do Jacaré, Chapel of Mercês, Ruins of the Emperor's Palace, Casa do Divino, Historical Museum, Carmo Church, Pillory, ruins of the Matriz church, Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of the Blacks and ruins of the city.
