- City tour in Olinda at sunset
We begin our tour with a visit to the Eufrásio Barbosa Market, which dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries and boasts modernized infrastructure while preserving historic architectural elements—a visit that will surely enchant us. Along the hills and narrow streets, we observe the colorful colonial houses and important buildings that tell the story of Olinda through the centuries.
Our first stop is the Arte Machê Café antique shop, where we see an authentic colonial house in Olinda. We then head to the Ribeira Market, known for its variety of woodwork and ceramics, as well as its viewpoints offering beautiful photo opportunities.
Our tour continues to the Quatro Cantos de Olinda neighborhood, where well-preserved architecture and the famous Ladeira da Misericórdia (Misericordia Hill) stand out. There, we can feel the energy of this place, considered the apotheosis of Pernambuco's Carnival. We continue through historic streets to the Olinda Museum of Contemporary Art, housed in an 18th-century building and home to a rich collection of works by renowned artists.
We then arrive at the famous Rua do Amparo, one of the city's best-known streets, which encapsulates the essence of Olinda with its many studios and restaurants. We stop at Botega do Véio, a beloved spot in Olinda for its welcoming, authentic, and bohemian atmosphere.
We end our tour at Alto da Sé, where we will have free time to enjoy the local cuisine and nightlife, ending our tour with a taste of Olinda's vibrant culture.
