We will take a charming tour of the city of Punta Arenas, the capital of the Magellan Region and Chilean Antarctica, founded in 1848 and located on the shores of the iconic Strait of Magellan. We will explore its main streets and avenues, immersing ourselves in the history and charm of this unique city. We will climb to Cerro Mirador, from where we will enjoy a spectacular panoramic view, contemplating the port, the Strait of Magellan and, in the distance, the mysterious Island of Tierra del Fuego.
We will continue our tour through the vibrant Plaza de Armas, a landmark of local life, and visit the historic Municipal Cemetery, known for its unique architecture and fascinating stories. Finally, we will explore the Chilean replica of the Nao Victoria, an impressive full-scale reconstruction of Hernando de Magellan’s ship, which will transport us to the 16th century, allowing us to imagine the adventures and challenges of the great voyages. This tour will be a true journey through the culture, history and landscapes of Punta Arenas.
