The Blue Lake Cave is one of Bonito's main landmarks and certainly one of the most beautiful places in Brazil. Besides its incredible views, the cave captivates with its sheer magnitude: it's one of the largest flooded caves on the planet, and visiting it is a true journey back to the region's origins.
To reach the lake, you must descend nearly 300 steps, the equivalent of a 12-story building. Along the way, you'll observe numerous stalactites and stalagmites (rock formations that take thousands of years to form) until you reach the greatest reward. The lake is crystal clear, and its famous blue color is due to a combination of factors, such as the grotto's location and the presence of minerals at its bottom. You'll certainly be enchanted by the beauty of this natural phenomenon, on a contemplative and unique tour.
