Activity description
Travel back in time with a guided tour of the Natural History Museum. With skip-the-line admission, this is the perfect way to learn about the evolution of life on Earth.
Welcome to the Natural History Museum in London. As we begin our tour, we pass through baggage check and the contactless donation queue, where an impressive giraffe skeleton stands alongside a stuffed giraffe, setting the tone for the incredible collection it houses.
Entering the grand hall, adorned with terracotta arches and columns, we notice playful terracotta monkeys climbing the walls, a reference to Sir Richard Owen's rivalry with Charles Darwin.
Our first stop is the Dinosaur Gallery, which displays prehistoric skeletons, including the iconic Diplodocus. Next, we enter the Mammal Gallery, which displays a variety of taxidermied specimens and skeletons, from African elephants to cheetahs.
In the Marine Life section, a breathtaking blue whale skeleton hangs from the ceiling, highlighting oceanic biodiversity. The Human Evolution Gallery displays life-size models and fossilized remains, providing insight into our ancestors' evolutionary journey.
Finally, we explore the Earth Sciences Gallery, filled with geological wonders such as gemstones and volcanic rocks. Our tour ends at the museum's café and gift shop, where you can relax and purchase a souvenir. Upon exiting, we admire the museum's stunning architecture and intricate mural sculptures, which reflect the legacy of extinct and living species.
