Hanoi After dark, we start at our stylish local café with a beer cocktail and a delicious snack from one of the nearby night vendors, before hopping on the back of our vintage Vespas. After cruising through the magical and bustling streets of the Old Quarter, we soon arrive at a lively local restaurant serving Bun Cha. This is the quintessential Hanoian dish, featuring rice noodles, grilled pork, and meatballs, accompanied by nem spring rolls. Simple, yet delicious.
We're back on the narrow streets as we head toward our next culinary stop, a fascinating local restaurant, where we sample infused rice wine and a buffalo jerky appetizer. Next, we head out of the Old Quarter, visiting the sites of the Hanoi Flag Tower and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, and ride toward West Lake and the Truc Bac area. There, we sample the local specialty of pho cuon and learn the art of Vietnamese-style wrap 'n' rolls with these fresh, fragrant ingredients and pho noodles!
Our next short Vespa ride takes us to our last port of call, near the magnificent Opera House. The halcyon days of the 1930s may be over; however, this Jazz Club will surprise you with a truly unique blend of styles—Jazz and traditional Vietnamese music!
