The History of the Kia Oval

Opened in 1845, Kia Oval has a rich history of sporting events. Most famously, it hosted England's first international cricket match in 1990 and, in 1993, the highly anticipated Ashes tournament. Kia Oval has also hosted many other exciting sporting events, including England's oldest football competition, the first FA Cup final in 1872, and England's first rugby match in 1876.

Sporting Triumphs

The Oval has been the scene of many of England's greatest sporting triumphs, most recently hosting the thrilling 2005 Ashes final. It also hosted England's Ashes victories in 2009 and 2013!

No tour of the Oval would be complete without a visit to the Peter May Stand, which offers stunning views of the pitch and the famous Victoria Gasholder. You'll also have access to the club's museum, where you can discover and explore fascinating memorabilia from several decades. After the tour, you can relax with tea and coffee in the imposing Members' Pavilion.
