- Lago Escondido and Winter Centers – Regular Bus Service
This contemplative excursion will allow you to enjoy the tranquility of the Fuegian landscape and its majestic mountain range to the south. We'll depart by bus from Ushuaia, passing two beautiful lakes surrounded by forests and glacial valleys.
Our first stop will be the Carbajal Valley, ideal for admiring the scenery and taking photos. Next, we'll visit the Harwen winter center, home of the snow sculpture festival, where we'll also tour the world's southernmost craft gin distillery and its production process, with the option of a tasting.
Next to the distillery, we'll explore a small museum dedicated to Argentine motorcycles and the exploits of long-distance pioneers. We'll continue to Paso Garibaldi, Argentina's only border-free crossing point, offering spectacular panoramic views of Lago Escondido.
Further on, we'll reach Lake Fagnano, one of Argentina's largest lakes, and visit the historic Estancia La Carmen, where we'll take a moderate hike overlooking the lake.
On the way back to Ushuaia, we'll stop at a winter resort to enjoy a typical lunch (lamb from Fuegu on a campfire, not included) and a well-deserved rest, before traveling the last 20 km back to the city, arriving around 4 pm.
