A wonderful experience, where the combination of different elements of nature comes together to give visitors the sensation of walking and discovering the mysterious paths of the ancient lumberjacks of the Big Island of Tierra del Fuego.
We prepared ourselves for this new adventure, eagerly awaiting transportation at the hotel, which would take us the last kilometers of the legendary Pan-American Route (Ruta 3), heading north, until we reached the winter center located in one of the valleys of the Andes Mountains.
In this vast, snow-covered valley, we reach the main refuge, where we begin our sled ride pulled by Huskies (an extroverted, docile, loyal, intelligent, and friendly breed). After crossing the valley, we enter the forest along an old logging trail.
We said goodbye to the Huskies, who will rest after work, and it was our turn to explore the valley on a two-person snowmobile tour, with prior instruction and helmets. The 5-km route passes through incredible landscapes, guided by an instructor who will show us the way.
At the end of the journey, we returned to the refuge, where we recharged with hot chocolate and good conversations about the experience. Then, we returned to the starting point and continued our journey back to Ushuaia.
