Prohibited
There are two entrances to the gallery. The Millbank entrance faces the River Thames, and the accessible Manton entrance is on Atterbury Street.
Provision of wheelchair and mobility scooter
To borrow a wheelchair or walker, you can reserve one in advance or ask a staff member upon arrival (subject to availability). Reservations are free.
To borrow a mobility scooter, please reserve at least 24 hours in advance of your visit. Reservations are free, but you must have driven a mobility scooter before. Please email ticketing@tate.org.uk.
Elevators
There are two elevators at Tate Britain. They will operate as part of the one-way routes: A large elevator near the lower rotunda provides one-way access to the gallery areas on the main floor and the Members' Room on the upper floor. A large elevator near the Upper Galleries provides one-way access to the lower floor and the Gallery exit to Millbank. Floor levels are announced in all elevators.
Bathrooms
Accessible and standard restrooms, along with changing stations, are located on the lower level.
Assistance dogs
We welcome guide dogs, hearing dogs, and assistance dogs in the gallery. Drinking bowls are available from a staff member in the cloakroom in the Manton foyer.
Baggage Size Policy
Suitcases and items larger than carry-on baggage (55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm) are not permitted in the building. Potentially dangerous items are also prohibited. There is a left-luggage office at Victoria Station.
