Follow in the footsteps of C.S. Lewis and his friends along the famous Addison's Walk, where they spent many summer evenings discussing their ideas. In addition to the colleges, your expert guide will take you on a city tour of Oxford to visit many famous sites.
Visit the interior of St Mary's University Church, where C.S. Lewis developed his ideas through sermons. Hear about the likes of Cardinal Newman, who also preached there, and meet the Oxford martyrs—Latimer, Ridley, and Cranmer—from the Bloody Mary era. The tour includes an optional refreshment stop. Many of the people who book this tour are former theology students, but the guides are not necessarily religious.
Please be aware that if Magdalen is closed on any of these dates, we will replace it with a visit to Tolkien's Exeter College, which is also home to Pre-Raphaelite art and an exquisite garden that has also served as the setting for several television series, including Inspector Morse, Lewis and Killing Eve, as well as A Discovery of Witches.
