In one day, you can embark on an excursion to the Ballestas Islands, often compared to the Galapagos, to see colonies of sea lions and seals and explore the Huacachina desert by dune buggy and sandboard.
ITINERARY
Meeting point at 5:00 AM in Miraflores, near Larcomar. After pickup, we'll pick up other groups at different locations before setting off on our way for an exceptional day.
Breakfast: On the way, we'll stop at a local artisan bakery. Have some food and drinks.
Ballestas Islands in Paracas - Boat Tour: Arriving in Paracas, we head to El Chaco Port, located in Paracas Bay. From here, we'll sail to Paracas Island on modern boats, where we'll enjoy beautiful views of the islands and admire the incredible environment and marine wildlife, including sea lions, Humboldt penguins, black cormorants called guanays, and various types of seabirds. Sea lions will likely be swimming around the boat, and you'll be able to spot penguins in the sea. Thousands of seabirds can be seen flying between the islands and nesting on the rocks.
Lunch: Next, it's time for lunch. We'll head to the Nieto winery. The restaurant is located inside the winery. You can also wander around and find somewhere else to eat, or bring your own food.
Pisco Tasting: After lunch, there's free time for a tasting. Here, participants can learn about the steps involved in making Peruvian pisco, guided by a local expert. Afterwards, participants will be invited to sample the different types of pisco produced locally.
Huacachina Oasis: Arrival in Ica (Huacachina). In this beautiful oasis, you can enjoy the tranquility of the place, stroll around the lagoon, and take unforgettable photos.
Extreme Activities - Buggy & Sandboarding: Get your adrenaline pumping on a small-group buggy and sandboarding tour in Huacachina. The tour begins with a thrilling 4x4 ride through the dunes. With an experienced driver at the wheel, you can let yourself go and enjoy the adventure. At the top of the dunes, you can try sandboarding.
It's time to head back. On the way, we'll make one last stop at the Grape Race. There we can buy a snack or find some souvenirs (wine, pisco, Peruvian drinks, traditional cookies).
10:30 pm, approximate time, we arrived in Lima (larcomar). Notes: - The order of excursions may vary depending on weather conditions, river levels, arrival or departure times, or any other relevant reason. Sometimes, the sea is too rough to visit the Ballestas Islands by boat. If the weather forecast predicts a storm, we may cancel the boat trip to the Ballestas Islands for safety reasons. In this case, you will receive a refund.
- The buggy and sandboarding tour lasts 45 minutes. The buggy is driven only by a professional driver. For a stand-up sandboarding position, professional boards can be rented in Huacachina for an additional fee.
- Babies under 1 year of age are not allowed to participate in the day's activities.
