We'll depart to visit Fez, the spiritual capital of Morocco. Arrival and start your visit in the New Medina, the newest part of the city, before continuing to the Old Medina. During your stay here, you'll understand why many consider Fez the best-preserved ancient city in the Arab world. In fact, the Medina of Fez is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon, your driver-guide will point out Dar Bouanania, a popular local hotel, before taking you to the Attarine Medersa, an educational institution built by the Merinides, a North African dynasty between the 13th and 15th centuries. You'll be amazed by the elaborate decorations of this architectural gem. Built by order of Sultan Abou Said Ohman, the Karaouine Mosque is the second-largest mosque in Morocco and the oldest Islamic monument in Fez. It is also considered by many to be the holiest mosque in Morocco, governing the calendar of all Islamic festivals throughout the country. The Nejjarine Fountain is also a must-see. Next, visit the Souks, where artisans still work in the ancient Eastern tradition. In the late afternoon, return directly to Casablanca.
