Founded in 1612 by the French, invaded by the Dutch, and colonized by the Portuguese, curiously known as the most Portuguese of Brazilian cities, São Luís boasts countless stories. More than 3,500 mansions of unparalleled historical value are located throughout the squares, streets, and alleys, making up one of the most beautiful architectural complexes in the country.
The tour begins with a departure from the hotel in an air-conditioned panoramic vehicle through the new part of the city to the stop in the historic center. After disembarking, you'll begin a leisurely stroll through the old town, visiting the main historical sites. Then, a stop for lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterwards, the tour continues to visit museums that reveal history and culture. Return to the hotel.
The main attractions in Part 1 include the Coastal Avenue, Jansen Lagoon, Coastal Pier, Gonçalves Dias Square, Beira Mar Avenue, Memory Stone, Dom Pedro II Square, Lions Palace, Sé Cathedral, Benedito Leite Square, São Luís Building, João Lisboa Square and Carmo Square, with a stop for lunch.
In Part 2, the attractions are the Historical and Artistic Museum, Ribeirão Fountain, Arthur Azevedo Theater, Gastronomy Museum, Reggae Museum, Visual Arts Museum and Mercado das Tulhas.
