Activity description

Get ready for a day full of discoveries as we set off early in the morning for the stunning Peninsula Valdés Protected Natural Area, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. This natural treasure, located on the Atlantic coast of Patagonia, is a sanctuary for an extraordinary variety of marine and terrestrial fauna, making it a must-see destination for nature lovers.
Our adventure begins with a drive through the peninsula's vast, undulating landscapes, where meadows stretch as far as the eye can see, interrupted only by the Salinas Grande and Chica, two geological wonders that are part of the landscape. We continue our journey to Punta Delgada, the southernmost point of the peninsula, to admire panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and experience the power of nature in its purest form.
As we continue, we reach Punta Cantor, from where we can observe the majestic geological formation of Caleta Valdés, one of the peninsula's most emblematic natural gems. Here, depending on the time of year, the beaches come alive with the presence of southern elephant seals, the largest seals on the planet. This is a unique natural spectacle, a dance of wildlife that few have the opportunity to witness in such a pristine environment.
Lunch, which is not included, will be an opportunity to rest and recharge in the picturesque surroundings of Puerto Pirámides or Caleta Valdés, two enclaves that offer not only a break but also the opportunity to continue enjoying the natural surroundings.
Depending on the season and the marine fauna's disposition, we can modify our itinerary to visit Punta Norte, another point of great interest on the peninsula, where the possibilities of spotting more marine and terrestrial fauna are equally fascinating.
Before heading back, we'll stop at the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, a space dedicated to promoting the peninsula's natural riches. Here, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the biodiversity that makes this site a World Heritage Site, as well as learn about the conservation efforts that protect this fragile ecosystem.
Throughout the excursion, you'll be surrounded by the best of Patagonia's wildlife. We'll have great opportunities to spot species such as guanacos, choiques, foxes, maras, armadillos, and opossums, which roam freely in this vast region.
The typical route takes us from Puerto Madryn to Puerto Pirámides, Caleta Valdés, Istmo Ameghino, and back to Puerto Madryn, a circuit that allows you to experience the peninsula in all its magnificence. The combination of landscapes, wildlife, and natural serenity make this excursion a truly unforgettable experience, where every moment is an invitation to be amazed by the majesty of Patagonian life.
