We'll depart early in the morning for the Valdés Peninsula Protected Natural Area, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. After an hour's drive, we'll arrive at the picturesque ecological village of Puerto Pirámides to embark on the Regular Traditional Right Whale Watching. Lunch (not included) will be scheduled in Puerto Pirámides or Caleta Valdés. We'll travel along the southern part of the peninsula, crossing vast landscapes of grasslands and rolling hills, passing through Salinas Grande and Chica, and out to Punta Delgada, the southernmost point of the peninsula. We'll continue toward Punta Cantor to admire the Atlantic coast and the fascinating geological formation known as Caleta Valdés. These beaches are generally inhabited, depending on the time of year, by southern elephant seals, the largest seals on the planet. Depending on the time of year and the marine fauna's disposition, we may substitute the southern part of Las Salinas and Caleta Valdés for Punta Norte. From there, we'll begin our return journey, stopping at the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, a compendium of the peninsula's natural riches. During the excursion, we'll have a good chance of spotting terrestrial wildlife, such as guanacos, choiques, foxes, maras, armadillos, and opossums. Season: Year-round shore excursion. Whale watching from mid-June to November. Sailing from December to the end of March. There will be no sailing between April and mid-June.
