This unique tour will introduce you to the places in Prague where the brilliant composer Mozart stayed. This is your chance to learn why the people of Prague welcomed Mozart so warmly, why they loved him so much, and why his music has captured the hearts of everyone in this nation to this day. Learn about the history of theater and music in Bohemia and Moravia, as well as the musical history of the Czech Republic.
Starting on foot, we'll tour the Old Town, stopping at the Golden Angel House and the Estates Theatre. The State Theatre hosted the world premiere of Don Giovanni on October 29, 1791. The Three Golden Lions House is where Mozart lived during his second stay in Prague. Next, we'll board a tram and head to Lesser Town to visit the Czech Museum's music exhibition. Then, take the cable car up to Petrins to see the tower. Finish by traveling to Strahov Monastery in Hradèany.
Walking towards Strahov Monastery, we'll see where Mozart improvised on the organ of the Church of the Ascension of the Virgin on the day of the premiere of Don Giovanni. In Hradcany Square and the Lesser Town, we'll stop at the houses and palaces where Mozart gave concerts and lived. Our journey ends at St. Nicholas Church, where a requiem was held on December 14, 1791, in honor of W.A. Mozart. It was also a declaration of the Czech nation's grief over his sudden death.
