ITINERARY
Our service begins at the meeting point in Miraflores towards the Historic Center of Lima.
- We'll pass by important landmarks such as the Huaca Pucllana Archaeological Center (external tour), the oldest surviving example of Miraflores, built 1,500 years ago. We'll then admire the beautiful republican residences of European and American influence that still survive in Miraflores. The bus will then continue to San Isidro (the financial capital), a modern and exclusive neighborhood.
- We will continue to El Parque de la Reserva (visit from abroad), a historic place where Peruvian reservists gathered to defend our city during the War of the Pacific conflict, today a popular city park called Circuito Mágico del Agua created in 2007 and which holds the Guinness record for being the largest fountain complex in the world in a public park.
- Then we will visit the colonial city, which was the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru of Spain, where we can appreciate colonial mansions, balconies, palaces, and Plaza San Martin, an important public space named after the liberator of Peru, Don José de San Martin, who proclaimed Peru's independence on July 28, 1821. Then we will walk with the guide through the pedestrian streets of the historic center where we will visit Plaza Mayor or Plaza de Armas, where the most important buildings of the Peruvian government are located, such as the Presidential Palace, the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, the Archbishop's Palace, the Club de la Union, and the Cathedral of Lima.
- You will visit the convent of San Francisco de Lima and its famous catacombs.
- The visit to the catacombs of Lima is completely underground and lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.
- Admire the vaults built with brick, lime and stone, while in the background you can see how the bodies were arranged for better distribution.
