TourTour of the Calchaquí Valleys (1 day)

Let's travel to a magical city located in the northwest of the Calchaquí Valleys of Salta, surrounded by imposing mountains, snow-capped peaks, plateaus, and colonial architecture that will transport us back in time.

But it won't just be the destination that will surprise us: the route along several national and provincial highways is one of the most beautiful in Argentina.

We'll leave Salta, crossing the central part of the Lerma Valley and then the Sierra Subandina. Along this stretch, we'll pass and admire the views of Quebrada de Escoipe and Cuesta del Obispo.

We will experience contrasting landscapes and climates: we will cross from the humid and lush jungles of the Yungas to the arid, cold and inhospitable Puna region.

During the ascent, you will enjoy spectacular views, imposing mountains and, with luck, see the majestic condor flying overhead.

At the point called Piedra del Molino, we will reach the maximum altitude of the route, 3,457 meters above sea level, and then we will begin the descent along the Reta de Tin Tin, already inside Los Cardones National Park, until we reach the city of Cachi.

Once there, you'll have lunch and time to visit the museum, the church, and explore the town's charming alleyways. We'll continue to Cafayate along the legendary Ruta 40, crossing the wonderful Quebrada de las Flechas and passing through villages like Molinos and Seclantás until we reach our destination.

The next morning, you will have free time to do whatever activities you want.

We'll visit a winery, where we'll learn about the production process and taste local wines. After lunch, we'll return to Salta, crossing the incredible Quebrada de las Conchas, with its reddish canyons, stopping to see places like La Yesera, Los Castillos, El Anfiteatro, and Garganta del Diablo.

We will enter the colorful Lerma Valley again, passing through villages such as El Carril, Coronel Moldes and La Merced.

Finally, we will return to the city of Salta.
