- Tour of the Calchaquí Valleys (2 days)
We'll travel to a magical city located northwest of Salta's Calchaquí Valleys, surrounded by imposing mountains, snow-capped peaks, plateaus, and colonial architecture that will transport us back in time. But it's not just the destination that will amaze us—the journey, along several national and provincial highways, is one of the most beautiful in Argentina.
Day 1
We'll leave Salta, crossing the central part of the Lerma Valley, and enter the Sub-Andean Sierras. Along the way, we'll explore and admire the landscapes of Quebrada de Escoipe and Cuesta del Obispo.
We'll experience stunning contrasts in landscapes and climates: we'll pass from the humid, lush jungles of the Yungas to the arid, cold, and inhospitable Puna. During the ascent, we'll enjoy spectacular views, imposing mountains, and, with luck, we'll spot a majestic condor soaring overhead.
At Piedra del Molino, we'll reach the highest point of the route: 3,457 meters above sea level. Then, we'll descend to the Tin-Tin Reta, already within Los Cardones National Park, until finally reaching the charming town of Cachi.
Once there, you can have lunch, visit the museum, the church and stroll peacefully along the cobblestone streets.
Afterwards, we will continue our journey towards Cafayate, along the famous Ruta 40, crossing the stunning Quebrada de las Flechas and passing through typical villages such as Molinos and Seclantás.
We will arrive in Cafayate, where we will spend the night (accommodation not included).
Day 2
In the morning, you'll have free time to pursue your favorite activities. We'll visit a winery, where you'll learn about the production process and taste local wines.
After lunch, we'll begin our return to Salta, crossing the spectacular Quebrada de las Conchas, famous for its reddish canyons. We'll stop at iconic landmarks such as La Yesera, Los Castillos, El Anfiteatro, and the Devil's Throat.
At the end of the route, we will cross the Lerma Valley again, passing through towns such as El Carril, Coronel Moldes and La Merced, before returning to the city of Salta.
