We leave the hotel by minibus overland (20 km) heading to the Tierra Mayor Valley. From the Nunatak refuge, we begin the hike, during which we cross peat bogs, streams and centuries-old forests of lengas and coihues. There is always the possibility of seeing foxes, condors and beavers along the way.
The Esmeralda Lagoon is located in the heart of the Tierra del Fuego Nature and Landscape Reserve. The color of its waters and its privileged location, in the middle of the Fuegian mountain range, invite you to take a break to rest on its banks and enjoy lunch.
Finally, we started the return to the refuge by a different route than the one we used on the way there and then returned to the hotel.

The tour operates daily, departing at 8am.
It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before the agreed meeting point. Hotel pick-up times are approximate. Passengers must always include their telephone number in their reservation so that they can be contacted by the Destination Coordinator to confirm their exact pick-up time.
The tour may be cancelled or rescheduled in case of adverse weather conditions.
Served and non-served hotels: hotels and guesthouses in the city of Ushuaia, except Hotel Bagu. Not valid for hostels and apartments for temporary rental.
It is essential to have appropriate clothing: dress in layers, using waterproof clothing, along with a thermal shirt or fleece jacket, gloves, hat, scarf or thermal neck warmer.
As for footwear, they should be suitable trekking boots (not sneakers), waterproof and with a sole that allows good grip during walks. The terrain in forests, valleys and mountains is characterized by ice, snow (in winter) and mud (in summer). In addition, there is peat, roots and loose stones that can cause serious accidents if the appropriate footwear is not used.
You must be physically fit to undertake this hike. Please note that if you do not have the appropriate clothing at the time of the excursion, the guide will not allow you to continue and you will lose the full amount paid for the hike. You can buy or rent clothing in the Province.
