You'll meet your guide at Rome's central Termini train station for check-in. Proceed to the platform and board the train without stress.
From Venezia Santa Lucia train station, you'll arrive at a nearby vaporetto stop (pier). Enjoy a ride on the typical Venetian waterbus, a fantastic way to begin admiring the stunning views, architecture, historic palaces and church facades, docks, gondolas, ordinary residents going about their business, and tourists going about their business. A city center entrance pass is included and provided by your tour guide.
St. Mark's Square is the heart of the historic center. After getting off the vaporetto and walking a few minutes, just turn left and admire the imposing façade of St. Mark's Basilica. What makes Venice special are also the 118 small islands on which it is built, as well as the 400 bridges that cross the famous canals: from St. Mark's Square, don't be afraid to get lost in the labyrinth of alleys (or calli) and small squares (campielli). Stroll through the crystal and souvenir shops, enjoying an espresso in one of the picturesque historic cafés. You'll probably make a stop (highly recommended) at the Bridge of Sighs (or Ponte dei sospiri) and will want to stroll along the elegant promenade (Riva deglli Schiavoni).
Upon returning to the train station, meet your escort who will take you to a traditional osteria for an aperitivo, or cicchetto, as Venetians call it. These are tapas of small savory sandwiches and side dishes, typically served in a casual bar or restaurant, accompanied by a Venetian spritz. What better way to relax and unwind after an intense but memorable excursion in one of the world's most incredible cities?
