- Historical Walking Tour of Venice
We will begin our tour in the center of Venice, heading to the Ponte del Remedio, from where we will have a stunning view of the famous Bridge of Sighs. Although it is known as the “lovers’ bridge”, it actually connects the Doge’s Palace to the city’s old prisons.
We will continue walking along one of the most winding bridges in Venice until we reach Campo Santa Maria Formosa, one of the largest in the city, from where no less than 9 alleys (calli) and 11 bridges start. Next, we will pass by Campiello degli Orbi, a place that, according to tradition, would have housed a brotherhood of blind people.
Our route will take us to the area of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, where the Hospital of Venice currently operates. From there, we will head to the enchanting Campiello Remer, which provides us with a unique view of the iconic Rialto Bridge.
Finally, we will pass by the legendary home of Marco Polo, the famous Venetian explorer. It will be a fascinating itinerary, full of stories, curiosities and secrets that reveal the soul of centuries-old Venice.
