Step into the stunning Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), housed in a modern building in the heart of the central El Raval neighborhood, and explore its collections at your own pace to discover a program spanning visual arts, performance, dance, film, music, events, and pioneering educational activities.
Journey through some of the most complex visions of contemporary art in a space open to the exchange of ideas and experimentation. Set around a historic cultural square that includes a Gothic chapel and Richard Meier's iconic museum building, the MACBA's permanent collections include works from the mid-20th century onward, with a focus on Catalan and Spanish art after 1945.
The 2023 program explores complex visions of contemporary art through visual arts, performance, film, music, and events. From December 14, 2022, to mid-2024, you can visit the MACBA Collection: Prelude, with a poetic intention.
Discover MACBA's temporary exhibitions, such as: the first exhibition dedicated to María Teresa Hincapié: If This Were a Beginning of Infinity; Ayuujkjä'äy ëy Konk: A fable based on a Mixe myth to approach a new perspective on history, both on display until February 26; Josep Grau - Garriga: Dialogue with the Light, on display until September 11, 2023; or Bouchra Khalili: Between Circles and Constellations from February 17 to May 21.
