We'll begin our visit from the exterior of Casa Batlló, as its imposing façade will leave you impressed. Its undulating balconies and vibrant colors, representing Antoni Gaudí's modernist architecture, will remind you of the marine world.
Entering Casa Batlló, we can delve into the mind of Antoni Gaudí, arguably Barcelona's most important architect. As we tour the house's various rooms, we'll discover how the Batlló family lived in the early 20th century. We'll stroll through the main floor, where the spacious living room boasts unique views of Paseo de Gracia. We'll pass through the main dining room and the modernist courtyard.
We'll have the opportunity to climb to the dragon roof through the inner courtyard, where the blue color predominates, and where looking through the glass will make you feel like you're at the bottom of the sea. Upon reaching the roof, we'll marvel at the chimneys, where Gaudí paid attention to even the smallest details and which are made using his quintessential trencadís technique. Furthermore, a dragon lives on this roof. Will you be able to spot it? In this incredible space of Casa Batlló, you can take some time to take photos and enjoy the view.
At the end of the visit, we'll head to La Pedrera, where we'll begin our guided tour, discovering its impressive stone facade. The undulating façade combined with the wrought-iron railings will evoke a seabed teeming with algae.
We'll tour the neighbors' apartment, which will be like taking a trip back in time. Your guide will explain how a bourgeois family lived in the early 20th century, as the house is fully decorated with period furniture. Notice every detail, as Gaudí even considered the design of the door handles.
We will visit the two inner courtyards of La Pedrera: the Patio de las Flores, full of murals that decorate this place, and the Patio de las Mariposas, where this animal is perfectly represented.
We'll tour the impressive attic, known as the Whale Attic for its shape, as it will give you the sensation of entering the interior of a large living being. Composed of more than 270 catenary arches, they will resemble the skeleton of a whale.
We won't forget the Warriors Roof, from where you'll enjoy beautiful 360-degree views of Barcelona. This roof owes its name to the chimneys, which represent the warriors and guardians of La Pedrera. Notes: * Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departs.
