- Cerro Tronador from Bariloche
This very special tour will take us to one of the most beautiful areas of the Nahuel Huapi National Park: we will visit forests, lakes, beaches, mountains and waterfalls and you will be able to see the highest mountain in the region, Tronador at 3,554 meters above sea level, the natural border between Argentina and Chile. In addition to the impressive landscape, you will be able to contemplate some natural phenomena.
After leaving the city center, the legendary National Route 40 takes us south, crossing the shores of Lake Gutiérrez and Lake Mascardi until reaching Provincial Route 82. Along the way, you will find viewpoints to enjoy the views of the lush landscapes. The route continues along a winding path that winds through mountains, ascending until reaching the highest point of the entire route. From there, you can see the valley of the upper Manso River along almost its entire length, with its winding course and greenish waters that flow down towards the Pacific in Chile. Continuing on to the Pampa Linda rest stop, we begin our journey to the base of the mountain, where there is a bakery and from there you can see other glaciers of Tronador.
The climb continues until reaching the last viewpoint on the route, Ventisquero Negro, a glacier that descends from Tronador and which stands out for its dark color and the ice detachments that sound like thunder, hence its name Tronador, which comes from "trueno" which means thunder.
