Tour2-Day, 1-Night Colca Canyon Tour with Final Stop in Puno

The Colca Valley is Arequipa's biggest tourist attraction, after Machu Picchu. Its rugged geography is home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, as well as Andean villages with many traditions.

We begin our tour along the Yura Highway, passing through the slopes of Chachani, Pampa de Arrieros and the Pampa Cañahuas National Reserve, where we can observe the slender vicuña. We continue through Vizcachani, Pampas de Toccra, where a variety of birds can be observed, and then we will skirt the Chucura Crater to reach Patapampa (4,800 meters above sea level) and Mirador de los Andes. There we will be able to observe the volcanoes that surround the city of Arequipa.

After the tour, we will descend to the town of Chivay for lunch and in the afternoon we will visit the thermal baths of La Calera. At the end of the day, we will check into the hotel of our choice within Chivay.

On the second day, we will head to Cruz del Cóndor (41 km from Chivay), a place where we can observe the Canyon and, almost always, the condors in magnificent flights. Then, we will return by car, enjoying the wonderful towns of Pinchollo, Maca, Yanque and the viewpoints of Antahuilque and Choquetico.

We will return to Chivay and after lunch we will depart for the city of Puno, making a detour to Patahuasi. On the way we will observe different Andean landscapes, such as stone forests, immense lagoons with a variety of birds, small villages in the area, the cities of Imata, Santa Lucia and the city of Juliaca.

After a six-hour journey, we will arrive in Puno and stay at the recommended hotel.
