- Regular Tour to Quebrada de Humahuaca with Hornocal (Hill of 14 Colors)
We'll travel to the majestic Hill of 14 Colors, also known as Serranías del Hornocal. This excursion will allow us to appreciate the most impressive colors of northern Argentina, its culture, its unique cities, and its people.
We'll leave the city of Salta, exiting through the city's central access point, taking National Route 9 and entering the municipality of General Güemes via National Route 34. Later, we'll enter the sister province of Jujuy, where we'll have the opportunity to visit the vast Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its imposing landscapes and picturesque towns such as Volcán, Purmamarca, where we'll find the majestic Cerro de los 7 Colores (Hill of the Seven Colors); Tilcara; Humahuaca, the largest town in the ravine; Uquía, a small town home to the 17th-century church of San Francisco de Paula, home to ancient paintings of the Archangels of Cusco, Peru, painted during the colonial era; Huacalera, where we'll step into the imaginary Tropic of Capricorn; and finally, La Palette del Pintor (The Painter's Palette) in Maimará.
Instead of visiting the town of Humahuaca as on the regular tour, we'll head to the Hornocal Mountains. In this case, we recommend bringing your own picnic for the return trip. We'll meet back up with the group to begin the return trip, alternating stops.
During the tour there are stops to walk and take photos!
