- Visit to the Armenistis Lighthouse in Mykonos
The Armenistis lighthouse or “Fanari” as it is commonly known, translating from the Greek “lantern”, continues to stand as a sentinel over the Armenistis area and bears witness to the maritime history of Mykonos.
To get to the lighthouse, we will take the Agios Stefanos road which offers the most spectacular view of the island, just 6.5km from Mykonos town.
Manufactured in 1891, the construction altitude is 19 meters and the focal plane height is 184 meters.
The mechanism of the first “Armenistis” lamp is displayed outside the building of the Aegean naval museum, which is located in a traditional 17th century building. 19, in the center of Mykonos, close to the Three Wells (Tria Pigadia).
