- Visit to Armenistis Lighthouse with Sunset
The Armenistis lighthouse or “Fanari” as it is commonly known, translating from the Greek “lantern”, continues to stand as a sentinel over the Armenistis area and is a witness to the maritime history of Mykonos.
To get to the lighthouse, we will take the Agios Stefanos road which offers the most spectacular view of the island, just 6.5km from Mykonos town.
Manufactured in 1891, the construction altitude is 19 meters and the focal plane height is 184 meters.
The mechanism of the first “Armenistis” lamp is displayed outside the building of the Aegean naval museum, which is located in a traditional 17th-century building. XIX, in the center of Mykonos, close to Three Wells (Tria Pigadia).
This place offers the best view of the new port area of Mykonos and the beautiful scenery around it will take your breath away. Its strategic view will give us the impression of proximity to the other islands, mixing beauty and local history.
