Historic Center and Surrounding Area: We begin at Plaza Independencia, the heart of the city, surrounded by architectural gems such as the Government House, the imposing Cathedral, the Temple of San Francisco, and the Church of La Merced. We stroll along the traditional San Martín Street, with its imposing buildings and facades that evoke another era. We visited the iconic Casa Histórica de Tucumán, the scene of the declaration of independence in 1816. 9 de Julio Park and Sugar Industry Museum: We head to the city's green lung, 9 de Julio Park, where the Casa Obispo Colombres is located, now the Sugar Industry Museum, which takes us back to the origins of this fundamental activity in the region. Plaza Urquiza Area: We explore one of the most elegant areas of the city, with buildings such as the Legislative Assembly, the Tucumán Casino, the majestic San Martín Theater (formerly the Odeón Theater) and the traditional National College. Architectural and cultural gems: Casa Belgraniana: a tribute to the creator of the flag; Casa Nougués: a jewel of the French Petit Hotel style, built in 1911; Centro Cultural Alberto Rougés: located in an elegant Petit Hotel at Laprida 31; the former Cinema Plaza and Hotel Plaza: witnesses to the splendor of Tucumán in the early 20th century; and the Caixa Popular de Ahorro and the Economic Federation of Tucumán: historic buildings that reflect the economic development of the province.
