On this adventure, we enter the Calchaquí Valleys to discover one of the most charming corners of northwestern Argentina: Tafí del Valle, a picturesque town surrounded by imposing mountains and unspoiled nature, located 126 km from San Miguel de Tucumán. We begin our tour by visiting the historic Jesuit Chapel and Convent of San José de Lules, where the ancient cloister and original chapel are still preserved, silent witnesses to the colonial past. Next, we begin our ascent along the picturesque Route 307, which winds through the lush Quebrada del Río Los Sosa, in the heart of the Nature Reserve. The jungle landscape surprises us at every turn, inviting us to stop and connect with the surroundings. On the way up, we stopped at the "El Indio" monument, and as we crossed the ravine, the entrance to the majestic Tafí Valley opened before our eyes—an unforgettable sight. We'll skirt the La Angostura reservoir until we reach El Mollar, where we'll visit the enigmatic Los Menhires archaeological park, enormous monoliths carved by ancient cultures that inhabited the region. Upon arrival in Tafí del Valle, over 2,000 meters above sea level, we'll explore the Jesuit Complex of La Banda, one of the oldest buildings in the region. We'll have free time to enjoy a regional lunch and explore its narrow streets, markets, and crafts. We'll end the day with a stop at a panoramic viewpoint, where you can enjoy the most impressive views of the valley before returning. Notes: Some hotels in the city are not included in our pickup itinerary. If this is the case, we will contact you to indicate the closest hotel to which we can pick you up for the tour. You should wait for your guide in the lobby of the indicated hotel. On Mondays the Menires archaeological site remains closed. If any unforeseen event or force majeure situation occurs during the implementation of a tourist circuit that prevents its continuation, the tour itinerary may be modified.
