Walking tour in a "unique" area to see fossils and petrified trees. It is recommended for all people who enjoy outdoor activities and adventure, and want to discover new places. Average physical fitness is required as the tour lasts approximately 3 hours. of discontinuous walking on uneven terrain. You start from Calafate along Provincial Route No. 5 heading east for 33 km and then return north along National Route No. 40 for a further 67 km. During this trip you will be able to see Lake Argentino, the Santa Cruz River, the La Leona River and its beautiful valley, with a panoramic view of the Andes Mountains, including Mount Fitz Roy. Stop for about 15 minutes at Hotel La Leona (historical site) and continue west following the south shore of Lake Viedma for 10 km until reaching the foot of Cerro Los Hornos (Estancia Santa Teresita), where we will arrive around 11:30 am. hs.
