We are going to do a "Minitrekking" on the "Glaciar Moreno" millenary glacier + an hour walk on the "walkways". The excursion starts from the hotels in El Calafate, departure by regular bus to the port "Bajo de las Sombras" approximately 6 km away. before the Glacier viewpoint, where you will embark to cross Lake Rico, reaching the southwest coast after approximately 20 minutes of navigation in front of the south wall of the P. Moreno glacier. After disembarking, the refuge is reached where the guides organize the Groups that are composed of up to 20 people. Then you start a walk along the lake shore about 20 minutes to the glacier. When they reach the edge of the ice, the guides put the crampins on the participants, who are instructed on how they should move on the ice. The route on the glacier takes about 2 hours, during which time you will be able to appreciate a variety of ice formations such as fissures, seracs, sinks, small lagoons, etc. The walk is moderate. The ice surface you are walking on is uneven but firm and safe. We will receive explanations about the flora, fauna and general glaciology of the region, as well as the particular phenomenon that occurs in the P. Moreno glacier and eventually causes its rupture. At the end of the hike, head back to the refuge through the lush Magellan forest. Then, visit the walkways for 45 minutes to enjoy the beauty of the Perito Moreno Glacier from the front. Return to the hotel in Calafate. What does it include? Duration: approximately 10 hours.
