Our "Minitrekking" tour of the Perito Moreno Glacier, an ancient glacier, will be complemented by a one-hour walk along the walkways. The tour begins with pickup from hotels in El Calafate on a regular bus, which will take us to the Bajo de las Sombras port, located about 6 km before the glacier's main viewpoint.
From there, we'll embark on a roughly 20-minute sail across Lago Rico to the southwest shore, in front of the south wall of the Perito Moreno Glacier. After disembarking, we'll continue to a refuge where guides will organize groups of up to 20 people.
The trek begins with a 20-minute walk along the lakeshore until we reach the ice edge. At this point, guides will help us put on crampons and teach us how to move safely on the ice. The glacier walk lasts about 2 hours and allows us to explore various ice formations, such as crevasses, seracs, sinkholes, and small ponds.
Although the surface is uneven, it is firm and safe, making the hike moderate and accessible. Along the way, guides will provide detailed explanations about the local flora, fauna, and glaciology, as well as the unique phenomenon that occurs on the glacier and can lead to its famous calving.
At the end of the trek, we'll return to the refuge via a trail that winds through the lush Magellanic Forest. Afterwards, we'll visit the walkways for 45 minutes to enjoy the magnificent frontal view of the Perito Moreno Glacier.

The tour operates daily, departing at 7am, with the exception of December 24th, 25th and 31st, January 1st.
Transfers are included for all hotels in El Calafate. Transfers to temporary apartments are not included.
It is recommended to arrive 15 minutes before the agreed meeting point time.
Hotel check-out times are approximate. Passengers should always include their phone number when booking so they can be contacted by the Destination Coordinator to confirm their exact check-out time.
The tour may be canceled or rescheduled in case of adverse weather conditions.
